Britain's Got Talent 2013 - Live Semi-Final 4

It's the penultimate live semi-final this evening and with one semi-final left to go, we're down to 18 acts left competing for a place in the final. 9 of those we will be seeing tonight and hopefully we're going to see an improvement in acts from what we've seen already!

First up was the Clubtown Freaks and freaks is the best way to describe them. God knows what possesses people to dress like this, but we it has to be accepted that everyone is unique and all that. But fantastically, there was a technical hitch where they were stuck in the thing they were meant to be revolving out of. I hope that was not their gimmick that was going to make them look good... To be fair, it probably was though. If I am being honest, it was awful. The singing was very bad and it all looked a bit shambolic. Simon didn't think they would get to the final and neither do I. However, kudos to them for dealing with the technical hitch and not letting it put them off.

The second act of the night was twenty year old singing student from Chester, Alex Keirl. A beautiful performance that could not be faulted. Once again he is someone who has battled criticisms in the past and all that crap they spout out during their VT, in the hops of being voted for. If he sings like that in the future, he could definitely be earning himself a lot of money. Interestingly, Leona Lewis and Matt Cardle have both covered that song. Maybe it must be one of Simon's favourites or maybe he gets royalties every time it's sung!

Third up was dance act The Shockarellas. Essentially, it was just a bunch of hipster girls dancing to a mix of songs, but they had actually made it visually better than their audition was, in my opinion. Their was moments where the stage overcrowded them, but the majority of it was really good. All positive reactions from the judges with Simon even trying to get down with the kids saying 'init' and saying it was "wikeeed". Obviously, Alesha loved it. She is the only one who knows about contemporary dance so the girls were pleased with her positive feedback.

Poppin' Ron was the name of act number four. His VT was pretty emotional with him mentioning his family troubles and deaths he had and I was hoping his poppin' moves would live up to his personality but sadly it didn't. He seemingly was just running around the stage as though he had lost his child and was frantically searching for them. I could not understand what was going on. Eventually he started to pop his body but it didn't come across as interesting as his audition piece was. It was all like a weird piece of interpretive dance. He received the first buzz of the night and it was from Simon, who wasn't connecting with the piece and preferred the original audition. His 'pick up the phone' poppin' moves were better than his actual act was!

Fifth this evening was my personal favourite act, magician, James More.  James astounded us with his first audition piece by impaling himself on a sword and it was pretty heart stopping. Tonight he has promised something bigger, better and potentially life threatening. Could this be the first ever death we see live on Britain's Got Talent? Sadly not! It would have made good television! James was tied up under blades of fire that dropped and made some of the audience scream. Better than that, he appeared suddenly behind the judges. He has managed to make magic look cool! This is the first year that a magician has had such a great response from the judges and he could definitely make his way through to the final. I hope he does as there has never been a reaction like there was to a magician on the show before, like James got.

Next up was musical theatre troupe Chasing The Dream. Hurrah! I hate musicals! I'm not sure why you would sing songs from a musical that nobody has heard of without showing us any storyline or backing information that relates to the song. Alesha buzzed the act with Simon swiftly following. Perhaps the judges are realising that it was an incredibly bad idea to put them through and that someone else could have had a deserved place in the semi-finals. Alesha was right in saying it was incredibly cheesy, which it was. Amanda was spouting her crap about how much she liked it, mainly because she has been in musical theatre herself, but was she really telling the truth? She didn't convince me. Simon also said it was very corny with David saying it was like turning up to the cinema late and not having a clue what was going on, but it was 'great'. I can be 100% sure that this act will not make its way into the final.

Francine Lewis was the seventh act this evening and she is my other personal favourite in the competition. If she does not get to the final, I will loose a small amount of faith in the human race. Starting with Dot Branning from Eastenders which was spot on and poked a bit of fun at Walliams swimming in the Thames. She also did a very convincing Sharon Rickman. Moving on to another perfect impression of Amy Childs, is there any person this woman can not impersonate?!  No! Sharon Osbourne was the next celebrity to take victim with Cheryl Cole also making a return and an appearance from her ex-bandmate Nadine Coyle. The final impression was her best one of them all, Katie Price! Francine got the first standing ovation of the evening from the judges and the audience and it was most definitely deserved. It was a treat to watch and she hit them all on the nail. One of the BEST female impressionists we have in the country.

The penultimate act of the evening is Asanda Jezile, who caused controversy by singing a Rihanna song that was not age appropriate for her. Acting like she is some sort of sassy Queen in her VT, I genuinely hope she does not get through. This sort of thing angers me about kids of her age. They act like they are all it and give out their 'attitude' thinking they are all big, when in fact they are not. I know that seems very critical of a child but they seem to be acting a lot older than they are nowadays yet their maturity levels are all low. Anyway, rant over. She's not a bad singer for a child, but as stated nearly every day, not as good as 2011's runner up Ronan Parke. Simon liked the act and I'm pretty sure I saw pound signs flashing in his eyes! Will she get through to the final? I can't see it after the great performances Francine Lewis and James More gave this evening.

The final act for tonight was AJ and Chloe who have been dancing with each other from a very young age and are not in a relationship... Which they have already stated... And we still don't care. I'm not quite sure what is going on with me this evening, but I actually thought this was a nice way to end the show. It looked effortless and very professional and even made Amanda want to get up there and join in. It could possibly be an act that goes through to the final and possibly could knock someone out who doesn't deserve to go home. But I agree with what Simon said, in saying that there are at least 5  acts that could go through to the final.

Well that is all the acts done for the evening and only two of them can go through to the final next week. It'll be a hard decision for sure when it comes to the judges' votes and I think they will take it to a deadlock vote going back to the phone lines.

UPDATE: Tonight's singer was Olly Murs and he wasn't too bad. To be fair though, he was an X Factor contestant so it's understandable that he can actually sing without the use of autotune. She also had the balls to make a nice little swipe at Cowell, but he took it graciously and laughed. But that's not what you want to know, who went through? Listed below are the two acts that beat the other seven to get a place in the final.

1. Francine Lewis (Phone Vote)
2. Asanda Jezile (Saved by David, Alesha and Simon)
(Amanda voted for Alex Keirl)

Britain's Got Talent 2013 - Live Semi-Final 3

We've all been given a day off for the football and it's a welcome return for the third semi-final of Britain's Got Talent 2013! And tonight, 9 more acts are fighting for another two places in the grand final. So without further ado, it's time to begin the show!

Our first act of the evening was interactive 3D dance act, using video mapping technology to create a visual light show, Freelusion. Combining graphics with dancing, do they have what it takes to make it through to the final? It was certainly interesting... All dressed as superheroes with a moving background which they somewhat interacted with whilst dancing, they got managed to get the first buzz of the evening from Amanda, moments before they finished. I have to say, it was no way near as good or as interesting as their first audition was. I wanted to see the ultra bright suits in the dark again, not this camp dancing where we could see them.

Second to perform tonight was bricklayer Robbie Kennedy, who in his first audition was asked to sing another song because Simon didn't like it. His second song blew the crowd away and he got a standing ovation from the audience and judges, with Simon even saying he could have a number 1 hit with the song he sung. So tonight, Robbie sang Bryan Adam's (Everything I do) I do It For  You. Personally, I do not think it was as good as Iris (which he sung at his audition), but he will be a popular one among the Mums who like this sort of gravel voice he has. Can he make it through to the final? Quite possibly, but it definitely depends what other acts are performing tonight as I don't think he was as strong  as he could have been due to his nerves.

Next was the big pink twat, Stevie Pink. Full of cheesy homosexual innuendo's, his act received buzzes from Amanda and Simon, with a buzz after the act from Alesha who didn't realise it had finished. Naturally, David loved it. Anything pink and gay and he's all over it. Alesha was very strong with her criticisms saying that she was glad to see the half naked guy on the motorbike (whom she knows) but "apart from that, it was crap." Simon pretty much said everything, he lost the audiences interest before the magic had even started. If anyone is reading this prior to the results show and is thinking of voting, do not vote for him. I will hunt down anyone that votes for this pink prick.

Moving on from that sham, it's act four Pre Skool. The most excitable act the show has had, they are a dance troupe from Port Talbot who are related to last year's finalists Nu Sxool. The act started with them removing their blazers (which was somewhat looking risky, thank God there was no stripping - that'd be wrong!). As I said during their audition, it was a bit out of time and generally looked a bit sloppy. Now I know they are all kids, but it wasn't that good compared to their audition. They are all definitely very talented, but I think a few years more practise and they'd be worth watching.  Amanda went as far to say as they were the best act of the night and that if they were not in the final, she'd kiss Simon Cowell. Potentially, this has just jeopardise their chances of getting in the final as I'm sure a lot of viewers would rather see that kiss!

Act number five was Thomas Bounce! One of the most boring acts ever. All he did was bounce his balls on the floor (cheeky!) and that's as exciting it got. Simon and Alesha both rightly buzzed him as it was crap. Plus, we were treated to the obvious innuendos and ball jokes from the judges. I personally did not enjoy it and I'm sure the audience did not enjoy it as much as they let on to do. When you're in the crowd you will cheer at anything, literally!

Next was brummie girl Rosie O'Sullivan. Another act I hate. It's no lie that she has had confidence issues due to her weight, but it's all she ever seems to talk about in her VT's. Whether she is using this as a scapegoat to make people vote for her, I don't know. But to me, we should be voting for someone based on their act, not what they have overcome. Credit where credit is due though, she is a talented singer and she received all positive feedback from the judges. I can see her going in to the final, but I can't see her winning the show.

Next up we were treated to dancer, Joseph Hall. I'm not a big fan of tap dancing (I'm seemingly not a fan of anything), but I rather enjoyed the act. It was just him throwing his hands and body round in a jazzy way and it was quite entertaining. He's definitely improved since his audition and he has a great stage presence. He managed to fill the stage all on his own which not many acts can do. The audience loved it and the judge loved it too. He was like a black Fred Astaire (nearly!). Simon likened him to a greyhound being let out of a trap due to his excitable entrance onto the stage and he didn't seem like he wanted to stop, or like he'd run out of energy! Joseph is definitely an act I'd personally like to see in the final and  I think with the surprises we have had this week, it could be possible. Something that most probably isn't possible, is his future goals after the show, he wants to be knighted by the Queen, go to space and work for Simon Cowell.

The penultimate act for the night was MC Boy, who Simon decided to buzz in the audition. Tonight, he is performing the same song as he did in the audition, I Need You Tonight. I guess seeing as he doesn't have any other songs he might as well keep recycling this song again. However, if he is to get through to the final, would we be forced to listen to it again? Simon's expression said it all about how much we don't desperately want to watch this again. What's worse, Ant and Dec both slapped MC Boy's bum... "It's a no from me!" Simon was first in to buzz along with Amanda joining in shortly after - but it turns out it was Simon hitting her buzzer. David was up dancing pestering Simon trying to get him to dance, whilst Alesha and Amanda danced in their chairs. Simon declared how much he didn't like the act and said that it sums up the weird night that has been had on the show. I can only agree.

The last act is singing group, The Luminites. These four impressed everyone during their first audition and they did it once again tonight. The performance was very stripped back  like their audition and thankfully did not involve many gimmicks to help them. It consisted of a beatboxer, a guy playing guitar and three of them singing. The harmonising was really good and it sound all very pleasant. I can see them getting a single out but I can only imagine them getting minor success like previous acts from last year such as The Mend, who seem to be playing most of their gigs at places like Butlins. However, it was an enjoyable act and I'm sure they will be in the final. The first and final act of the night to get a standing ovation from all four judges and the crowd, it was a deserved response.

That is all for tonight's semi final. It's certainly been an interesting show and slight weird for the majority of it. We've only got two more semi-final shows left to go which I am looking forward to, but I don't want it to end! I'll be back for the results show and no doubt slagging off the celebrity singer as I normally do!

UPDATE: Tonight's singer was Demi Lovato and to be fair, she wasn't too bad. The performance wasn't too over the top and she can actually sing live. She also had the balls to make a nice little swipe at Cowell, but he took it graciously and laughed. But that's not what you want to know, who went through? Listed below are the two acts that beat the other seven to get a place in the final.

1. The Luminites (Phone Vote)
2. Pre Skool (Saved by David and Simon - plus a tie meant they were chosen thanks to the phone results.)
(Alesha and Amanda used their vote for Joseph Hall. Simon could not decide, so wanted it to go to the phone vote results)

Britain's Got Talent 2013 - Live Semi-Final 2

It's the second evening of the live Britain's Got Talent semi-finals! Looking at the trailer for the show they played, it doesn't seem like it's going to be that interesting. But by the looks of things, they have put a load of singers competing against each other, perhaps to knock as many of them out so there is a bigger variety in the final. Anyway, let's proceed!

First up this evening is dance partners Martin and Marielle. Once again, Martin is swinging Marielle like there is no tomorrow! It'd be very awkward for him if he was to drop her. Their acts seems to be dance combined with gymnastics and it looked pretty impressive. Perhaps they should have started the first semi-final with this act to make it look a bit more spectacular. The act proved to be a favourite with the judges, however Simon said he doesn't want as much throwing and wanted more dancing... but that would make their act boring! Perhaps he just wants to compete with Strictly Come Dancing!

Next up was Labrinth's younger brother, MckNasty. Essentially, he just stands there banging drums to some music. To me, it just sounded like they played a song and he enthusiastically jumped around throwing his arms about. However, he got a positive response from the judges who all loved it. I think Simon gave it praise due to Labrinth being signed to his own label, so he obviously does not want to upset a big money maker's brother. Perhaps all the judges have been briefed not to..?  Whatever their reasons for voting was, they proved popular with the judges and the audience, so this could be Britain's Got Talent's first ever successful drummer!

The third act of the evening is 13 and 15 year old, Jack and Cormac. Two little boys from Ireland who had the crowd on their feet during their first audition. Essentially, they have the cute factor, which people will vote for because of that. However, once they hit puberty that could be the end of their singing career. Once again, not as good as Ronan Parke (he will owe me a house by the end of this, free promotion!), but it was still good. Covering Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble, they were dubbed as a mini PJ and Duncan by David Walliams. I have my doubts that they will get through as I don't think they were a strong enough act, but who knows? I was wrong last night and I could be wrong again this evening!

Another singing act was next and it was Modupe Obasola taking her chances at wowing the idea. It was the first buzz of the evening and the second buzz of the semi-finals so far! Simon did not approve of the act. Going from an acoustic artist to a pop artist, covering a Justin Bieber song. She ditched the cutesy guitar for some naff backing dancers, and the results were not pretty. Amanda seemed to be the only one who liked the 'new' Modupe. Thankfully, we definitely will not be seeing her in the final. Had she done what she did in her audition and stripped it all back, just playing the guitar, she might have had a chance.

Surprise surprise, another singing act. Meat Diva, who met at a karaoke, were the next act and it's another one I do not enjoy. Every time that woman puts on a wig, she looks about 10 year older than she actually is. The act started with Elton John and moving to Cher. Simon said the act looked cheap in the auditions and it still looks cheap to me. The singing is awful and the costumes are not much better. We then saw the bloke dressed as Meatloaf and singing on a motorbike, which ended with them both being dressed as Meatloaf and Cher singing Bat Out Of Hell. It's definitely something you'd see at a holiday camp and I don't want to see it again. To be fair to them though, they did give it 100%, it just wasn't for me.

Next up, was dance act, MD. A large dance troupe which did not impress Simon during their audition, as he preferred them when they previously auditioned in previous years. For me, it looked very messy with some of them being out of sync at points. Are we as the public not sick of dance acts now? Apparently not. The audience loved it and even Simon said it was better than their audition, but he thought that they needed to get rid of some of the members as there was a few weak members. Which I agree with. There's no room for weak members when you are trying to win a competition. Not even the sob story that there was injuries and they did all their costumes, hair and make up themselves could make them win me over. I hope it doesn't win anyone else over.

Back to the singers, it feels like we've only had five minutes away from them... Oh wait! It was Alice Fredenham next, who caused controversy after being nervous at her audition but seeming more confident at her Voice audition shown a week later. Simon described her voice as " liquid gold" during her audition and I can do nothing more but agree. She sounded somewhat like Amy Winehouse, it was a great song choice too. She made a small mistake in the song, but that was not enough to spoil her act in my opinion. Although she was beating herself up about the mistake and all the controversy going round in her head, she was trying to hold back the tears. Simon loved it so much, he went back on his liquid gold comment to say that her voice "was like liquid platinum gold." Can't be bad! Prediction number two! I think she will definitely go through without a shadow of a doubt and I genuinely hope she does.

The penultimate act was comedian Jack Carroll, whose act stems from making jokes about his disability. I have to say, he did pretty well to live up to his audition. His jokes were great and he had the judges in stitches! He got the first standing ovation of the evening, from the whole studio and it was definitely deserved! His sense of humour was wicked! He made a dig at Bruce Forsyth and Strictly, but also went for the jugular and ripped Simon to shreds! Will he get through? Of course he will! And the great thing is, people won't vote him due to the sympathy vote because of his disability, they will vote for him because he is a great comedian and is genuinely funny.

The final act was Gabz, who is still wearing a fucking onesie. Sadly, she chose to sing the same song as she did in her audition. As catchy as it was, it would have been nice to see a different song from her. She had about 20 backing singers as well which seemed to take the attention away from her slightly, but giving everyone in the audience was given a light to sway during the chorus, which made the act more interesting.  However, despite me being Mr Grump, the audience and judges loved it. She was branded as a "little pop star" by Simon and David suggested Cowell got it on iTunes straight away. Gabz says that she has written over 30 songs, why could she not sing one of them tonight? I feel as though she wanted to play safe this evening, but I also feel that she has washed away her chance of getting to the final. Perhaps she will be the wildcard act..?

And that is all for now! An interesting show to say the least, but once again I feel as though we're lacking something during the live shows this year. Perhaps tomorrow will bring a wider variety. I'll be back soon for the results show with your update of who got trough!

UPDATE:  Tonight's results show saw Jenifer Lopez perform a UK exclusive of her latest song. It's a shame the judges can't buzz her off. Quite frankly, she wasn't very good. now she is getting older she needs think about putting an end to it as her voice isn't quite so good any more. But thankfully we didn't have to endure that for too long. The acts going through are listed below.

1. Jack Carroll (Phone vote)
2. Gabz (Saved by David, Alesha and Amanda)

(Simon did not get to vote as Gabz had won before he could make his decision)

Britain's Got Talent 2013 - Live Semi-Final 1

It's the live semi-final's of Britain's Got Talent 2013! For what has felt like a long time, we've finally got to the live stages of the competition. We've had another year of cracking auditions and this week 45 of those auditions are battling it out for the grand prize of a place on the Royal Variety Show 2013. This year it's the return of the wildcard act, where the judges can choose an act that does not get through to the final to get a place in the final and compete to win the show.

So kicking off the show is a 57 year old man dressed as a vicar dancing with a fake nun... Yes, it's Mark Healey who created his dance partner with a broom, after his wife did not want to dance with him. For me, it was just an irritating man doing 'Dad dancing' with a broom dressed as a nun. Starting with music from The Sound of Music, he then moved onto disco songs which still did not really help him. I'm not quite sure what this man is expecting, but I honestly hope it's not a place in the final as it's just a man with a dummy. He was also a massive prick. Seeking every bit of attention he can whilst he was on stage, trying to be funny with his unfunny jokes. Thank God we won't have to see him again!

Next up was the Band Of Voices, who due to 'personal reasons' have lost a member of the group, but have replaced her. So they started with a deep voiced man attempting to sing Britney Spears', Baby One More Time. Then the rest of them kicked in and it sounded awful. Thankfully a beat kicked in and saved them for dying flat on their asses. Plus, the new addition to the group seemed to do a better job of singing than the rest of them did. A very risky song choice this evening but was the risk worth taking? The judges seemed to think so. Personally, I doubt they will win the competition and I can't see them progressing to the final due to the acts performing tonight. But, I'm sure they will have an album out by the end of the year and by next year you'll be able to pick it up in Poundland.

The third act is a dance group, Youth Creation, from Essex who have over 30 people in their act with ages ranging from 8-14. Now I'm going to be a pessimist as I am sick of dance acts and I got tired of this act very easily. Their timing was out at points and it was nothing new. It was just a bunch of kids prouncing about and I could literally do what they did, I'd just need another 30 odd kids around me doing what I'm doing and it'd be the same. The only difference about their act is that they had recorded vocals of themselves talking to the judges but it wasn't very exciting. Naturally, the judges responded well to the act as not to look like heartless bastard. Simon classed it as the "best act of the night so far", but it's true. They were the best of the night so far, but the bar hadn't really been set that high. A lot of effort must have gone into the dance so I commend them on that.

Next up was twin brothers from London who describe their act as a mix of hip hop, RnB and Grime. They go by the name of J Unity and they rapped to the verses of Olly Murs' Troublemaker.  Another one of my dislikes. Rap music. However, this evening they proved that it can sound good. They were very unique and it was quite relaxing to watch them. It's another act I doubt will get through to the final, but I have the feeling they could become the wildcard act. David started off by saying they had chemistry, to which Simon responded they were twins. This seemed to be a running gag as each judge got Simon's witty, 'they're twins' remark. When it got to Simon, he asked with a straight face if they were related.  Hilarious..!

Act number four was Brenda (Mark) and Bernie (Stuart), the Bosom Buddies. During the day, Stuart work on a builder's yard, but by night he's working as a Drag Queen, radical!  Another act I despise. I hate opera singing and I hate drag acts. They both did a good job of singing like women, but it wasn't for me. The first buzz of the evening came from Simon who at the end of the act had a bucket of petals thrown over him by David. Thankfully, I had the same thinking as Simon and couldn't take it seriously. They sung Time To Say Goodbye, and I definitely think it is time to say goodbye to them. Who's next?

Next was impressionist Phillip Green who made the judges laugh even before his act started with his irritating faces and camp manor. He seems to do a lot of look to the camera in his VT tape which gets me thinking he's just acting up to the cameras. However, his act is actually quite funny. The act started with him in a video on the Daybreak sofa impersonating Lorraine Kelly. He then moved on to Natalie Cassidy, Stacey Solomon, Alesha Dixon and Louie Spence - in which he did a little dance on the stage.  Simon's face didn't seem quite so keen when he started to bust a few moves.  As much as the act was great, his wide eyes and irritating reactions to the camera and judges really grates on me. It's as though he's trying to impersonate Stacey Solomon when he's not doing his act. I'm sure the public will have enjoyed it and we will see him go through to the final. If not, we'll definitely see him on ITV2 in an impressions show. Perhaps it could be called 'The Irritating Twat's Impression Show'... perhaps not..?

After that piece of shit, it was 11 year old Arixsandra Libantino, who caused controversy during her audition for singing a song about a one night stand. To be fair, she doesn't sound like a young girl singing,  she sounds older. Unless her voice was suddenly breaking this evening - that's puberty for you!! Probably the best act so far this evening, she received a standing ovation from the crowd and an awkward one from David Walliams who was on his own at the table standing. As I keep saying, not as good as 2011's runner up Ronan Parke. However, I do need to stop referring to him, but I can't as he was the best young act the show has ever seen. With all four judges giving positive feedback and the first standing ovation of the night, will Arixsandra be the first act to go through to the final this evening? It's very much possible.

The penultimate act of the evening is Aaron Crow, the creepy guy that poured wax in his eyes and sliced a pineapple on top of Ant McPartlin's head! With the help of Amanda's ring (keep it clean please), which he placed inside an apple, he placed Declan Donnelly on a chair and popped the apple on a plate, on top of his head. Dec, visibly scared, sat helplessly on the chair and winced at the sight of a bow and arrow. Aaron stood on a rotating plate and aimed the arrow at Dec. He made it look like he slipped, but sliced the apple that was above him and also managed to hit a target across the stage. In another twist, he managed to get the ring on the arrow and hand it back to Amanda after. A great act which made everyone jump when it looked like it had gone wrong. However, he definitely needs something a lot more impressive, bigger  and more dangerous to win the show.

The final act of the evening is Richard and Adam. As I've previously said, I do not like opera so this act had absolutely no appeal to me. But, they got the second standing ovation of the evening and all of the judges, except Simon, gave them one too. Plus, we got to see their Nan screaming her head off after they performed which added a bit of entertainment to their act, I guess. Could they make it through to the final?

Sadly, it's too hard to guess who will go through to the final tonight. Personally I think Phillip Green will get a place but I'm not entirely sure who will go through with him. In all honesty, I haven't really enjoyed any of the acts tonight apart from Aaron Crow and I think it has been the weakest start to the semi-finals in the show's history. But, later on this evening we will get to know who it is that goes through so that is something to look forward too. I'll be back with an update during the results show later on this evening, see you then!

UPDATE:  So the results show saw Ellie Goulding perform a medley of her music, but this wasn't needed as I only want to know who is through. Anyhow, the acts going through are listed below.

1. Richard and Adam (Phone vote)
2. Arisxandra Libantino (Saved by David and Amanda - plus a tie meant she was chosen thanks to the phone results.)
(Alesha used her vote for Youth Creation. Simon also did as he could not decide, so wanted it to go to the phone vote results)

Britain's Got Talent 2013 - Week 7

It's the final week of auditions tonight (sob) and we will be finding out at the end of the show who has made it to the semi finals! But before that, we've got lots of entertaining (?!) acts to sink our teeth into!

So first up tonight was James More, a 38 year old magician. As we all know, Simon does not like magicians unless they do dangerous things. He definitely liked this act! James put himself on a knife and it sliced through his body making it look like had been impaled. I have no idea how he will top that as it was a heart stopper! Next was 3D dance show Freelusion. Who turned the lights out to create as visually stunning piece using lights and projections. We also got the chance to meet, Meat Diva. A duo dressed as Freddie Mercury and Tina Turner, to which they started to sing like. But behind a screen on the stage, they were both changing their costumes into Meatloaf and Cher. David said that he though it "was very erotic." Not quite sure what he was watching! Thankfully Simon was the only person with common sense and buzzed them. Somehow the duo managed to get through but I am not sure how they can make their act look less tacky or even sound better.

Next was mango loving, 14 year old, Gabz Gardiner, who went for the onesie and cap combo that we have never seen before. Ever. Singing and playing a self penned song about losing the love of your life, of which she has thankfully not experienced, she got a good response from the crowd and judges. Not my kind of music unfortunately and I do not think she was as good as 2011's runner up, Ronan Parke (need to stop referring to him, but he was one of Britain's Got Talent's best acts who should have beaten Jai McDowall!), but still a good effort. Should a 14 year old really be singing "put your lighters in the air"? A deserved yes from all the judges means that Gabz will most probably be seen in the semi finals.

And that is it! The auditions are over and now the judges face their "toughest decision yet" as they decide who is to go through to the semi finals.

The judges deliberate!
And so the judges fought over who they wanted to put through to the semi final's with arguments naturally occurring.

I'll be back tomorrow night for the first of the live shows!

Britain's Got Talent 2013 - Week 6

Its the sixth week of Britain's Got Talent and this year we have seen more talent than you can shake a stick at! This week we are starting in London with the first outside act of the series!  The first act were diving... from 25 metres above ground. Putting that into perspective, Olympic divers usually dive at 10 metres. A spectacular act that started with people jumping off diving boards from various heights, to finishing with the 25 metre dive and setting one of the divers on fire and diving into the water. Potentially, it might have been the most dangerous act to have ever graced the show. Just imagine if one of them had slipped, from 25 meters high! Ouch!

Next up it was Stevie Pink, a 42 year old illusionist, who decided to dress up like a pink twat. His levitation act failed to make a big impact initially on Alesha and Amanda who both buzzed the moment he put his glamorous assistant to sleep. However, as soon as he levitated the girl and spun her around and flew her about, the judges perked up and mouths in the room dropped. With the room stunned and the judges wondering how it was done, he went flying into the next round.

Thanks to last year's winners Ashleigh and Pudsey, this year the competition saw lots of animal acts, but they were not necessarily good acts! First up was Patty the Donkey, an artist... Well, just a donkey that they stuck paintbrushes in the mouth expecting it to become Van Gogh... Instead, we got splodges of paint on a piece of paper. Next was Kimberly and her raccoon Melanie. A somewhat dog agility course for a raccoon which sadly did not impress the judges. We then saw The League of Extraordinary Groomers, who took a long time painting their dogs with the judges faces. And I can tell you it was a long time as I was in the audience for the atrocious act! We then got to see Jo and Rappaw, which is what I expect Ashleigh and Pudsey to be like in 50 years time, with Simon saying it's the worst dog act he has ever seen.

So after all these dodgy animal acts we saw Joseph Hall, a dancer teacher who was coincidentally dancing. Quite a brave thing to be doing, not many people dance on their own on the show any more since the big dance acts have been popular. But, Joseph proved that people still enjoy it when someone dances on their own, perhaps it was his killer moves that put him through! A ventriloquist was up next and surprisingly the judges loved it! Perhaps it was because he was one of the first ventriloquists who was actually funny! But, stealing this segment of the show was The Band Of Voices who have all been backing singers for big names and they decided it was now the time to be in the spotlight, not at the back. In my opinion, I don't think their vocals were all that strong, but it was still a valiant effort. One of the group had already been on the X Factor and this was his second chance pass as they sung their way through to the next stage after an encore performance of God Save the Queen.

Next up was a montage of singers all who had chosen Alesha to impress and thought singing would gain there way to her heart. One of these featured was 16 year old Luciel Johns, who gave Alesha a cheeky wink, but sadly she realised he was old enough to be his mother so he was out of luck. Also we saw singer Maarty Broekman from the Netherlands. Inspired by ladies and time travel (?!), playing his weird keyboard guitar thing he sang a song called Back Door Lover, and no, it's not a song about anal sex! With his dodgy 80's synths and awful singing, he somehow made it through to the next round with only Simon being the one to buzz and say no to him. In my opinion, I think I now know what it would be like if I was to take hard drugs. Never again!

The final act of the evening was 29 year old Aliki Chrysochou who was once diagnosed with a brain disease that meant she had to learn how to speak, walk and generally learn everything again. Although she sang a song that I really hate now, she blew everyone in the audience away and also the judges with her operatic voice singing Evanescence's Bring Me To Life, which was somewhat a fitting song for what she had been through. With Amanda and Alesha in tears, Aliki received a deserved standing ovation fro the crowd and three of the judges. I believe that even if she does not go on to win the competition, she will still do well after the competition.

And that is all there is time for this week! Another week's gone by and we've seen lots of talent tonight. I for one can not wait for next week as it is the last week of auditions and time to find out who has got through to the semi finals. So I will see you then!
